New for the Holidays!

I wanted to do something new this year and found these wonderful paper punches!  They have tabs on the tops of them so you can fold them over something else to give them the hanging look.  This is what I came up with, Christmas notepads with stockings!

Still a work in progress, but I like how they are coming along!

Photo test

Have you ever seen artists that take their work and put them into a room?  Maybe the walls are different colors, the furniture is different color and they can insert their artwork hanging above the sofa so you have an idea of what the art would look like in your room!

Well, I often wondered how they did it.  Is there a photo program to do this?  If anyone knows, please tell me!

I stole (sssh, don't tell anyone) this room photo somewhere online and I inserted my own works of art in it!

Dragonfly

I had this awesome visitor to my garden.  I can't believe it sat so long while I snapped away with my camera!

Antique Finds, Part II

This is a drapery panel.  Pretty, right?  LOL!  I'll be using it for background for photos.
A large roll of shelf liner.
Meet Ele!
This looks really bad, doesn't it?  You are probably wondering what would make me want to buy this.  Let's take a closer look!
It's not really a badly damaged tray, it's an unfinished paint by number!
More Lucite!  Reverse carved earrings.
Another piece of Virginia Game barware.
Have a nice day!

Antique Finds!

I wasn't going to go out shopping, but the hubby made me do it.  He planted the idea in my head.  Okay, so I think he was trying to get rid of me for a while.

I did come across these two cuties!  Plastic wall plaques.

A vintage stamp holder.

Fenton milk glass tray.

I have a really hard time resisting Lucite!  Especially Lucite embedded with things.

This is embedded with real items!  That's a baby seahorse and starfish.

This is an Avon soap dish, complete with stinky soap!  Still in the box.

Also found a small pin of a duck with a pink rhinestone eye.  The price tag covered the entire pin!  It was tarnished and looking bad.  I got it home, peeled off the price tag and cleaned it up.  It's marked .925!  Yep, sterling silver!

Paint By Number Finds

I feel so lucky!  Went for a quick trip to a local antique mall and found some nice Paint by Numbers.
These look much better in person!  I was thrilled to find them, they were both in frames but not framed properly.  I removed them from the frames and found them dated 1955.  And they have the initials on them, one is W.F.M and the second one is MM.  I can just imagine a couple sitting by the radio on Saturday night and each painting a paint by number to match, how cute is that?

These are from the 70's.  From the Great American Series and American Spirit Series.  Some one took a lot of time on these, it's hard to tell they are paint by numbers!

Blue Ridge Mill.  This is the largest one I've ever purchased at 24 x 18.

It was a good day!

Okay.

I guess even the sock monkey needs to exercise.

This is the result of the little dog trying to hide her big brother's toy in her den.

So many toys, so little time.
Why did I bother to buy her a bed?

This is what happens when Mom gets bored.  I couldn't help it, her hair was in her eyes, she needed a barrette.
Sometimes she forgets to tuck in her tongue.

Always an amusement to me!

Thrifting - On the Road! Part Three!

I'm pretty sure this is some type of torture device!  Actually, it holds items like cheese, the huge roast etc. so you can then slice it.  Love the chippy look!
There's no reason whatsoever to purchase something like this next bowl.  Okay, yes there is.  First off, it was only .50 cents.
And it is perfect for my felted acorns!  I think I might need some more acorns to fill it out.
This next item is a covered bowl that was so filthy dirty, the lid wouldn't fit on it properly.  Once cleaned up, it's a beauty!
Something else I purchased for myself!  My friend found this purse and thought I had to have it.  I went back and forth, for $1.99, how could I lose?  I couldn't put it back.

It's a Longaberger!  I had no idea they even made things like this!

Yep, it's mine, all mine and I'm pleased with it!
I really wanted to get out of the luggage business, but saw this one and had to think it over.
It's a Samsonite and I fell in love with the design.

Nope, that's not runny dirt, it's the pattern in it!

It's not squared, the bottom flares out a bit that gives it a wonderful look!

That's it for now!  Thanks for stopping by!

Thrifting - On the Road! Part Two

In the book room at Impact, I found these two children's books.  I just like the looks of them!  They are from the late 1940's.

This is a cake server with Bakelite handles.  What I want to know is, which side is down and which side is up?  Do they work like this?
Or this?  Which way does the curved end go?
I love to find old journals!  I found two manuscript books and a grade record book.
What I find interesting is this manufacturer's name!  Warner Brothers!
Ah, just look at the insides!  And the best part?  Only .35 cents each!
I couldn't resist another flower frog!
And one more item for today.  I found this Burwood plastic clock from the 70's.  It's not a favorite subject of mine but I hope someone else will fall in love with it.
It has the white wicker look, blue accents and Mom with daughter at the lake.
It didn't work when I got it home.  The battery wouldn't stay in it.  I told the hubby to fix it and he just started laughing and said I was putting the wrong size battery in it.  SIGH.  Works great now!
And this neat bottle!
Remember this stuff?  Artificial sweetner in the liquid form, just pump it into your beverage!
