Map Bracelets

I was lucky enough to get 3 custom orders for map bracelets this week! For those of you that don't know about these, they are my passion! I love making them! Enlarge the photo to see them closeup!

I have decided to remove them from my shop the second week of Dec. I just don't trust the postal service to get things delivered on time during the Christmas holidays, so I don't want to have disappointed customers.

You might notice some photos in my slideshow that aren't in my blog. Well, I made these awesome earrings for myself but when I was putting the earrings together, I realized one paper bead has a big black hair in it! I'm sure it's a bristle from my brush, but still. And I wanted these to wear on Tuesday with my blouse (also shown) so I decided to go ahead and finish them so I can wear them on Tuesday. The photo made the hair stand out like crazy! So, I removed the photo from my blog but it remains in my slideshow. Jen, I did it just to make you feel better! NOT!

Featured Seller

I have a fan! It's such a great feeling! Shannon from Square Effects loves my map bracelets and beads. She advertises for me more than I do myself! She made a bracelet that just blows me away and I want to show it here.
Isn't this amazing? I can't imagine stringing all those seed beads. To top it off, she added a great lava bead! I just love this bracelet! You can see this and more at: http://www.squareeffects.etsy.com/

Christmas Tree Farm

All these trees are made with a paper bead! Wire wrapped and a star at the top, each one comes with it's own little stand! I've sold quite a few of these and plan on using them to decorate my Norfolk Island Pine tree at Christmas. I've made earrings with a few of them and love them, can't wait to wear them! These are great for package decorations or as a necklace. I include a lengthy cord or ribbon with each one. They can be found in my Etsy shop at www.RunsWithScissors4.etsy.com

Snowpeeps paper beads

Well, no sooner did I list the Snowpeeps beads and they sold! Yep, that makes me very happy!

The buyer asked me to make earrings from them for her and I like them so much, I need to make more so I can have a pair of earrings for myself!

New Paper Beads for the Holidays

I made these for the holidays and think they are so cute! They came out nice, in my opinion. I have them listed in my Etsy shop. They are great to make earrings and pendants.

I've been tagged

I've been tagged by Ooh!Vintage to share 6 quirky things about myself.

1.) I love the color purple. Not so much that I'd have a purple car or a purple house, but I do love purple. When I am old, I shall wear purple! Just like the saying goes.

2.) Once, I flew to Minnesota. Ran through Mall of America and flew back home the same day! Just because I could.

3.) I am a Pezhead. Have been for about 13 years now. No matter where I go, I am looking for Pez! You can see my collection at http://www.thepezt.zoomshare.com/. I still need a bunch of vintage items if anyone has some vintage Pez!

4.) I'm a cheap date. Get me a cup of coffee and sit me on a bench, I'll spend a lot of time people watching.

5.) There's a few things I won't talk about. Religion, politics, sex, chiropractors and Oprah.

6.) I can't stand people that drive in the passing lane and never leave that lane. They don't pass and don't do the speed limit so I'm forced to pass them on the right side of the road. What is up with that???

And now I get to TAG 6 bloggers!

Cool Etsy Purchase!!!!!

Is this about the cutest thing ever??? It's called Chicken Duck! This just cracked me up the first time I saw it and I had to have it. This is from John at www.jasumner3.etsy.com Stop by his shop, he has some amazing prints! I missed out on Mr. Happy, but that was another one that I fell in love with the first time I saw it. The details are great, right down to the reflection in the water and the shadow of the swim ring on the sand. John is the ideal seller, he contacts you after the sale, lets you know when your item is shipped, packed it so the mail truck could run over it and not damage the print, but wait, there's more!!! He upgrades to priority mail! Woohoo, I got it in no time!

Featured Seller con't.

Jennie's work is so amazing, it deserves more exposure! People seem to enjoy her work as much as I do! So, I've decided to add just a few more of my favorite items. Pictured above is a custom made set of coasters with edges Jennie made for me so I can use them to take photos of my beads!

Isn't this just amazing? Even the photograph is awesome!
Another favorite is the Christmas ornaments:

Featured Seller

Today's featured Etsy seller is Jennie from SoSoRosey! I've purchased so many items from her that I can't post them all here!
Jennie is one of the best! She will work with you on special orders until she has them just right. She's fun to work with on the projects, too! I'm not the only person that adores her! She's been in so many treasuries, on the front page and in several gift guides. Check out her work and you'll understand why! I've done some Christmas shopping in her shop and can't wait to give these gifts, I know they will be loved.
I really have a hard time picking just one item to feature here, please visit Jennie at http://www.sosorosey.etsy.com/ to see all her beautiful work!

Wow!

Two posts in one day! I'm seriously addicted to this blog stuff! Tell me, am I getting carried away with widgets? Too much going on over there?? ---->
Anyway, I wanted to show this great candle ring I purchased from fellow Etsian: http://www.lindab142.etsy.com/ Isn't it too cute! It's done with beads! I love how it worked out!

Christmas Trees part II

I made another pair of tree earrings. These are done with all silver. Hung from silver lever back hoops. I do like these and couldn't resist a pair for myself! They are listed on Etsy at www.RunsWithScissors.etsy.com

On another note, go to Best Buy to shop for a new computer. About two minutes into the sales spiel, all my brain is hearing is this voice that sounds like Charlie Brown's school teacher. You know the one I mean? Like, wah wah wah wah ... What's the prettiest one you have? I want pretty, I don't know anything about specs. I did load up my shop and blog on a bunch of them to see how different things look on different computers. There was this super neat desktop computer with a touch screen! Just touch the screen and move things around.

Christmas tree earrings

I made these today and have them listed on Etsy. I'm going to make one more pair in silver. I like how they came out. They look great when wearing them, I must have a few for myself. They are wire wrapped to look like they have their own little tree stands! Aren't they cute?

I'm on to them!

So, I go shopping, armed with a 55% off (one regularly priced item) coupon for the craft shop! This is so cool! I'm in a bit of a hurry, so I run through the store, pick up a book of paper ($9.99), two strands of beads ($3.99 each) and a wooden dowel (.39 cents). Get to the checkout, put everything down and hand her my coupon. Pay the bill and run. I get home and look at my receipt. Book of paper on sale for $6.99, strands of beads on sale for $2.99 each and what do I get for 55% off??? Yep, the .39 cent wooden dowel.
How's that for money management? Do I know how to spend or what?
But my point. I'm a bit slow, but I'm finally onto these wonderful coupons. It's great to get those 40% off coupons every week, but think about it. They put every single item in the store on sale for 30% off. I went three weeks not being able to buy anything, well, except for a candy bar for 40% off. Don't worry, it was one of those expensive Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark candy bars. I know, I know. Great use of a coupon!
I asked if they could ring up an expensive quilters ruler at the regular price and then I could use my coupon and she said she couldn't do that. It was on sale for 30% off. I think they could do it, they just don't want to. Even I know what a price override key is.

One of those moments

Ever want to try something, you think about it and finally decide to do it and then think, okay, don't need to do that again? LOL! That was me yesterday. I get it in my head I want to use puzzle pieces to make earrings. I find a puzzle while cleaning (and sheets of Shrinky Dinks! Remember them? What will I do with those?)

Anyway, I poke holes in the puzzle pieces and heavily coat them with poly. Let them dry and look at them. Not bad, they came out really shiny and pretty neat looking. BUT, they are huge! Would anyone wear such big earrings?

I went to the drugstore today. Went on roads I always drive on and today, there's something new! Speed humps! Yep, not speed bumps, speed humps! The sign confirmed this. I swear if you are driving a small car, you could get hung up on these things. I never saw a speed hump before.

BeachGemming

Another one of my favorite shops! I love looking at her collections. I try and imagine what these gems were in their former life!

Her photographs are awesome! There's something so soothing about looking at sea glass. I became interested in sea glass years ago, but have never been able to find gems like these on the beach!

Her young daughter does the wire wrapping!! I am so envious because this is something I've never been able to get the hang of doing.

Vintage Vendor

This is the one that got me started on Etsy! She made me aware of Etsy and I was hooked. I opened my first shop, BusyBeading.etsy.com and she followed shortly after. Just look at her shop! I'm so proud of her, she is doing great. Cathy sells vintage paper items and buttons. You can find her at VintageVendor.etsy.com.

Karen here, from RunsWithScissors4.etsy.com. Please feel free to stop by my shop and look around. I love all the new friends I've met through Etsy and thought I could share some of them here.

I have a Pez web site that shows my Pez collection! You can visit it at http://www.thepezt.zoomshare.com/. Remember Pez dispensers? I've been collecting for years and it was easy to become a Pezhead!

I'm new at all this blogging stuff, so please bear with me while I get the hang of all this!
