My doors!

It occurred to me that I never shared the rest of my doors with you, so here you are!
Other than the magnetic chalkboard door, we did the door leading into the retro bathroom.  When the door is propped open, you'll see a glossy black door:

When you are inside the bathroom with the door shut, you'll see the white side of the door.

I love how the door matches the bathroom now!
Next came our funky door between the hallway and living room.
This is a weird color that doesn't show up in the photo, more like a light yellowish green color:

BUT, here is the fun part!  And again, doesn't really show in the photo but:

It glows in the dark!!  Some day maybe, I might purchase the type of glow in the dark paint that you can tint with color and try that with a blue instead.
The backside of that door is painted to match my cabinet:

I wasn't really sure how I'd feel with all different color doors but I love it!  So much better than all the same old wood!  I put all satin nickel hardware on the doors and that matches my faucet and toilet handle in that bathroom.  Now, I'm ready to move upstairs!  Um, what color doors do I want up there?  :o)

Tension pole lamp update!

I finally decided what I should do with the tension pole lamp with the attached tables to it.

I really liked the tables and if I put it in the one corner, I thought it would be neat with a box of tissues and my cell phone charger but it would have required me moving my printer out a bit and I didn't like that idea.  I originally wanted another tension lamp for the other corner and this was perfect as far as the color goes but I couldn't do it with the tables on it.  I absolutely refused to compromise the lamp in any way so unless those tables could be removed without harming it, the tables stay put!  Most tension lamps that I've seen come apart in three places, however, this one came apart in five places and yippee!!!!  Two of those places were where the tables were, so it was simply a matter of taking those sections apart, sliding the tables off and attaching the pole parts back together!!  One happy camper!

Here it is behind one of my funky chairs.

Note the silhouette picture on the wall?  That is my hubby, done in school in 1958!  Isn't it cool?  And fits right into my mid-century wall.  And that horrified him!  LOL!

Ponder this continued!

Sorry for the bad video, it's my first attempt!  But you can get the idea.

I think this bird needs a helmet.

Flea Market Finds

Hubby surprised me with not one, but TWO flea markets on Memorial Day!

First one we went to was a bummer.  Not much vintage stuff at all and it only took an hour to go through but I did find one item.  So worth the trip!
This is pretty awesome, not one we've ever seen before and within our PBN price range!  I must teach the hubby how to negotiate prices though!

Onto the second one and this one was wild and oh so much fun!  Packed full of vendors, just the way I like it.
First beauty I found!
A wire donkey letter holder.  Isn't it cute?
Then came this:
This is a planter but I will find something to put in it around the holidays.
Best part is that it is a Holt Howard piece!
It is in nice condition except for the paint loss and I just might paint it in since I'm going to keep it for myself.  It was so cheap I just couldn't pass it by.  I thought it was just a sweet looking piece.

We found one Pez dispenser, not a vintage one but one we didn't have:
And one last thing, another paint by number!
Again, this is one that really needed cleaning!  I took the photo of this before I cleaned it and when I did, the scratch along the side all but disappeared!  It's a sharp looking ship, if I must say so myself!
We haven't had a whole lot of sun lately so this was a really nice day!  Full of fun and sun!

Ponder this!

Here is one for you to ponder.

This is going on around my house.  Do you know why?

Vintage Light Shopping!

A funny thing happened on the way to the antique mall today!

This antique mall has outdoor tables set up on the weekend and we were too early for antique mall so we roamed around the tables.  I found this beauty!

Seems I'm getting a small collection of toothpick holders and Opalescent glass!

This is what I wanted to look for at the mall.  Another tension lamp for the other corner of my living room!

This one comes complete with tables attached to it!

I'm not sure what to do with those.  the top one seems to high, so do I lower them both?  Then will they be too low?  Should I remove them completely?

I have a lot to think about and make a decision because I can't leave it where it is too long!

I love the shades, they are fiberglass and the perfect colors for my rooms.

This is in amazing condition.  There's not one scratch anywhere, it works great and I'm anxious to get it in place!

Vintage finds.

I have mixed feelings about today!  A friend and I got up early to go to this "huge" yard sale.  We got there and they didn't have much at all and nothing I wanted.  But behind the yard sale was a small antique mall with about 30 vendors inside it.  It really was a cute place and I walked out with these:

Paint by number called Snowy Memories.  It's a nice size, 12 x 16 and it was within my PBN budget!

These are neat.  They are plastic lacy doilies!  They are such a great aqua color that I think I need to use one in my retro bathroom!

I got three of them!

We went to two other antique malls and I walked out with nothing!  A whole day and this is all I came home with!

There were a few things I probably shouldn't have passed on but I wasn't in the right frame of mind for all this shopping.  One thing I am going to take the hubby back to look at was another tension pole lamp that I passed by because I didn't think it would work where I wanted to use it but now I think I can make it work!

We had a pleasant time but I should have spent more money!  LOL!  Well, tomorrow is another day...

Chalkboard door

This is my newest door decor.  I like changing it up!  Just wish I was an artist!  Would love to do some fancy font work on it.

Paper Beads

I made some new paper beads but haven't coated them yet.  I'm not sure if people would buy them uncoated so I guess I need to get around to coating them!
These are my favorites of the group. I like how big and fat they look.
Some musical note beads but I'm not really fond of the color of them, think I'll go back to making them with real sheet music.
And the last set for now.

Quick thrift run

Well, yes, I did have company yesterday.  But still.
Just as we settled down with our coffee in the afternoon, I say to my friend, will you take me over to Goodwill?  She goes, SURE!  We gulp down our coffee and off we go.  Why did I want to go?
I was at this shop on Thursday and saw something that wouldn't leave my mind. I had picked it up twice and put it back.    Have no idea why this stayed in my head for days but I had to see if it was still there.
What was it that got inside my head?

Now, wouldn't this haunt you, too?  LOLOL!

It really is a great piece, it's huge!  It hangs over 2' long!

I can't decide if I want to keep it or sell it.  I think it would make a cool door hanging but wonder if it would fade in the sun.  What do you think?

I think it is watching me.
One other thing I got is this hippo piece.

I know this line because I have a few pig items.  Couldn't pass on this one for .97 cents.

Not bad for running through the store and getting back in time to make more coffee!

Gravel Art #2

Due to the weather and getting ready for company tomorrow, I haven't gotten out much this week.

I stopped at one Goodwill store but didn't get anything worth talking about.  I have been shopping on eBay a lot lately!

This is one thing I got, another gravel art still in sealed box.

Wish I could find some finished ones that would fit with my new old wall shadow box.

I'm going to start looking for one that goes lengthwise to hang below the shadow box.  Think that would be neat.

Most of the subjects in this line, aren't the best, have to see what else is out there!

Everyday funny

Some times, everyday things crack me up.  It doesn't take much to give me the giggles.  This was on my coffee cup the other day:
{Caution, Hot, But You're smart enough to know that.}

It really doesn't take much to amuse me!  I'm a cheap date.

Flea Market Finds

Ran over to the flea market yesterday even though there was a treat of rain loaming overhead.  Not too many people there but I was able to pick up a few items.

First, was this neat measuring cup.  It's glass with three spouts.  No handle.  Perfect condition.

Not Sure what I'll do with it but thought it was neat.

Maybe some flowers during the summer!  Price?  $1.00

I have a plant this year that needs to be kept in water at all times, so though this might work:

It is a Sunbeam mixing bowl but I can't use it for the plant, it didn't look right.  Maybe a different flower will work though.  Price?  $1.00

Then, this glass compote that is sun purpled.  Most people would run in a different direction from this but not me, I love sun purpled items.

It just sparkled once I washed it up and is really pretty.  Price?  $1.00

Next, I saw these figurines with 3 dogs and cats on them.  When I asked the price, she said $1.50 each.  Well, that wasn't bad but more than I thought they'd be.  Then again, I got all this other stuff from her for only $1.00 each so I really couldn't complain.

Then she threw in the tiny single figurines, too.

Not bad for a few minutes at the flea market!  And total spent?  $6.00, can't beat that!  From there, I went and got my plants for my deck this year.  Now I have a lot of work to do.
