Paper Beads

I made some new paper beads but haven't coated them yet.  I'm not sure if people would buy them uncoated so I guess I need to get around to coating them!

These are my favorites of the group. I like how big and fat they look.

Some musical note beads but I'm not really fond of the color of them, think I'll go back to making them with real sheet music.

And the last set for now.

New paper beads

I've been trying to come up with something new for my paper bead line and this is what I came up with, finally!

I take regular paper with a pattern on it.

Cut out the bead shapes, roll and glue them and then I stained them.

Then, coated them as usual.  So they still have a nice gloss to them.  I made these beads into a necklace:

I like how they darken up but you can still see the pattern through the stain.

Paper Bead Swag

I decided to try to make a garland using paper beads.  I must admit, I like how it turned out!

Using coordinated papers in denim blue, striped and purple gingham, I strung them on a cotton string.  Added blue and purple Swarovski crystals and double spacers. 

 It's six feet long.  Can use it over a door or window.

 Over some of your favorite art work!

 Or on a wall. 

The beads are not coated, so it's only suitable for indoor use.  I'm putting this one on sale in RWS.

I'm waiting for a few more supplies and then I'll do one in blues.  A shorter one for a single window.
