Thrift finds!

We decided to take a trip about 45 minutes south of us to this place called Re-Store.  What a cool place this was!  It's for Habitat for Humanity and a thrift shop for building supplies!  They had these wonderful ceramic bathroom items to die for and only $4.00!  There's lighting, tiles, flooring and all kinds of things that are donated by local businesses or people to help rebuild houses or completely build new houses for people in need.

They have other items too.  Like a regular thrift shop minus clothing.  Worth a trip, although the only thing we walked out with was one  book for $2.00.  Check it out, you might find one in your area:  Habitat for Humanity.

While in the area, we went to this huge thrift shop called Impact.  It's a higher class type thrift shop, so you can find bargains and then again, you might pass up things you'd otherwise buy at lower prices.  All depends, if you are shopping for yourself, the higher prices might be okay, if you are shopping for re-sale, you might have to pick through and pass up more.

We purchased a paperback book, 3 hardcover books and now my fun starts!  I got this rhinestone pin:
Then, I got this bowl, I have a few items in this pattern and was happy to find this in such great condition and at a great price, 95 cents!
It's a beautiful divided nut dish.
Here is my problem.  I like to use my items and of course, this would need to be washed, however, it still has the original tag in it!  What would you do?
But this was the best.
 Enameled veggie dish.
 Great graphics on this one.

And it's a Georges Briard!!  Woohoo!  Isn't it beautiful?

The cost for 4 books, the pin, the dish and the bowl?  Under $10.00!

Thrifting Finds!

I have just a few more things to share.

Check out this awesome chicken feeder!  I just see so many uses for this in a home.  Think centerpiece of a table with acorns in it, autumn display of mums in it and well, Martha Stewart I'm not, but I bet you could think of many more uses for it.  It screams primitive farmhouse!
This is another Brumberger file storage.  But, this one has a twist to it!
It's a front loader and I just love how it latches shut.
The little film making dude on the front.
I actually found 4 more flower frogs but the first three's photo was too bad to show you, so here is just one holding the buttons I found!
Aren't they just the cutest?  Glass baby face buttons!
Last year, I started making a charm bracelet for myself, using only vintage items.  I have no rules for it, just anything that will fit and I like them.  LOL!  I took some earrings apart for it and have a few other items but it just wasn't moving along as fast as I want it to.  I found a few more items for it, I'm especially fond of the Popeye charm!!!  And I only paid $2.00 for it so that made it even better.  And a ship in a bottle, how fun!  And yes, I found a plastic troll doll.
I try really hard to stay away from any more jewelry but as you can see, I just can't stay away.
The owl in the back is by Avon and is glow in the dark!  Plastic palm tree, set of two bees, two birds on a branch, clear acrylic with violet, clown pin, bugs, Bakelite buckle, awesome flower parasol and some funky red leaf earrings.
I got some super sales, like the owl pin was half price!

That's it for this trip!  See something you'd like to have?  Let me know and we'll work out a deal!

Have a great weekend!

Friday's Finds

I really, really, really, really, really, really, really needed to get out of the house yesterday.  Really.

So, I did what I do best and went shopping.  I didn't come home with a ton, but a few fun things.

I found this super cute ribbon with pigs on it!  Two rolls yet!  I'm not sure how old it is but I wasn't going to leave it there.  I decided I could always sell it as supplies.

Next, I've been looking for cute but cheap glasses to use with two pins I want to sell that hold eyeglasses, so look for these in two of my pin listings!  I can finally list these pins.
No way could I resist this!  Two rolls of wallpaper border, unopened and only .47 cents each!  One is a pearlized and I can't wait to work with it!  It's a beautiful design, too.

Now, when I first saw this, I thought, oh my, how rude is it to take one single cupcake to the party and not share with others?  Then, I saw Tupperware Toys on it, whew, made me feel better.  Now, I'm thinking, how flippin' cute would this be with that Easy Bake oven?

Get out those poodle skirts and saddle shoes!  This little wall hanging just screams retro!

I get home and there's a message on the machine.  I listen and it's a man from an antique mall I was in months ago!  He has PBN's in his booth.  I got right back in my car.  He had the two hunting pictures and the kit in his booth.  Oh darn, the kit is not old enough to list in my shop.  Drat.  Guess I'll have to keep it.

In another booth, I found a set of two Ballerina pictures and the two bird pictures.  I have the two bird ones but they are unframed, so I can sell those and keep the ones in frames now!  There's two more in that series and I really want to find those.

Latest Finds!

I've really been lazy about blogging lately. I've had some amazing finds lately and haven't shown them. It's time to change that!
Here's one I just couldn't resist. Made from all seashells, except for the eyes, how cute is this? Okay, so it's not the cutest, but still! It has a face only a mother could love.

This is strange. No markings on it. One side is deep enough to plant a small cactus or something but the other side isn't deep enough, what's up with that?

Party Invites that are puzzles! You write the information on them, take them apart and mail. It says they require a .13 cent stamp.

I almost passed this up, it was so filthy dirty with something that resembled a green moss! I soaked it twice in dishwashing soap and it still didn't come off. I finally sprayed it with Scrubbing Bubbles so they'd get into the crevices and even then, had to do it twice and use a toothbrush on it. Now I'm glad I didn't pass on it!

Two mushroom mugs, Made In Japan!

Mug by Fostoria!

Love the characters on it!

This just breaks my heart. Someone took 25 Wade animal figures and threw them into an old, used bread bag. Only about 17 survived.

The giraffe is awesome! Only one survived :(

Thrifting!

I had to go to the post office on Friday so I decided to make a stop at a thrift shop I haven't been to in a very long time! I walked in and saw how much they opened up the rooms and how nice it was organized now! A whole room for linens! A room for toys and kid's clothes. Housewares everywhere! And the best part, now there's a basement opened for furniture, electronics and more housewares!
I saw this pitcher and kept trying to walk away from it. But something made me take it! It was so filthy dirty, I wondered why it attracted me. I washed it up and just look at it sparkle! I found out it's a West Virginia Game Pitcher.
I love finding rhinestone items! This one is pretty plain, but has a special feature. The clasp is just wonderful! It's a rhinestone box clasp to die for!
It's a choker necklace!

Tuppercraft trio planter in sunny yellow! I can just see herbs planted in this and on a windowsill somewhere!
Tupperware cereal bowls!
I, also, purchased another dictionary for my word paper beads and four skeins of WOOL yarn! Great for felting and only 50 cents a skein. Probably should have bought more of that!
No photos of these, but I found 12 more paper plate holders in those wonderful vintage colors! A few more fish ones like listed on Etsy and a new style I don't have yet. Makes me want to have a picnic!
