Flea Market Finds

Wow, today was one of the best flea markets ever!  So many vendors, so much fun!  We were there for five hours!  Wanna see what I got?

 

I have no idea what these are.  Yes, they are paint by numbers but of what?  I searched the museum for them and can't find them.  I tried searching with the following tags:  girl, boy, dog, cat, bear, hat, circus and monkey.  Nothing.  Any ideas?

 

This next item is one of those, what the hell is it and must have it things. 

 

It clips onto something and I guess it holds cups.  Does it clip onto a table?  Is it for a card table?  I carried it around the flea market and kept asking vendors if they knew, two of them said it was a cup holder for a car.  Um.  Why does it have a handle there?  Tuck napkins in it?

 

I just thought it was neat.  Hard to sell if you don't know what it is though!

I have one item that I didn't take a photo of, it's a 6 pane window!  I got it cheap and want to do a project with it, so maybe you'll get to see it some time later.  And got myself a new plant for my garden.  Was a great day!

OMG, where has this summer gone?  Can you believe it's Sept. all ready?

 

I've been shopping, but not taking the time to post items, just too lazy.  Sorry about that!  I've had a request to post what I found at the latest flea market, so here it is.

 

This is fun, my friend and I stepped back and let my hubby take the lead on this one!  The man wanted $10 a piece for these, the negotiations started and boy, was it fun to watch!  The vendor thought they were worth more because they are signed, nope, doesn't mean a thing, the hubby states.  LOL!  In the end, they settled on $6.00 for the pair but when my hubby went to pay, he said he only had a $5, would he settle for that? 

 

These were my doing.  They are gravel art called Golden Parrots.  Wish they were in better shape but for $4.00, I wasn't going to pass them by.

I liked it.  LOL!  He had a second one, different style, I'll take both of them but I never picked up the second one.  OMG, it is SO heavy!

 

These are neat files, not sure if I'll keep them or not.  LOLOL!  I didn't buy them to keep but I do like them.

 

Found this vintage projector and the vendor really wanted to get rid of it.  He had a box full of slide holders that he told me to take what I wanted and since I have a nice display that has 4 empty boxes, I took just 4 of the slide holders to fill those boxes.  He gave us an extra lamp bulb for it and another attachment to it, all for the huge amount of $5.00.

 

It's that neat industrial color and I hope someone will want it for a display item and it does work, if they really want to use it.

Flea Market

What a great day for a flea market!  Checked the weather forecast and it said the storms weren't moving through until later in the day, so off we went!

The hubby wanted to look for some tools to replace missing pieces so he was happy to take me!  And he was able to find what he wanted, so it was a good day for both of us!

Here is what was found today.  The hubby bought this, yep, a toolbox and it's for me!  Now my hammer, screwdrivers and wrenches have a home other than my kitchen junk drawer!  And it's the industrial colors I love, he did good!

Another toothpick holder.  It has a really nice pattern on it:

This is a beautiful Heisey sugar bowl, it just sparkles!

Four paint by numbers, not the best of shape but cheap enough.  And I love the message on the backs.  I've seen worse conditions, too.

Here is another industrial box, this one is for slides.

Came with the boxes, 8 of them have slides in them, must go through and look at them all, the other four boxes are empty.  Makes a great display.

And I did a bundle!!  The slide box above and these two wall hangings.  I've seen these and they are made by the same manufacturer as my wall shadow box.  They are the perfect size for hanging on each side of your shelf.  Remember, I had two small gravel art pictures on each side of it and these are so much better! 

We also came home with a shoo fly pie and 2 whoopie pies!

Paint by Number

Woohoo!  I have been searching for one of these for a long time now and one finally came up on eBay within my price range!  I'm pleased to add this to our collection:

Now onto the second one to go with it!

 

How has your week been?  This week has flown by so quickly.  I haven't gotten out of the house for any flea markets, it's still storming at times so I've been puttering around the house.  Maybe tomorrow!

Paint by number

I need an intervention.  I can't stop shopping on eBay.  My latest purchase is this paint by number:

It's called Sails at Rest from 1956.  Note how dirty it is, especially the clouds.

A few baby wipes later and waalaa!  Not bad at all!

Vintage finds.

I have mixed feelings about today!  A friend and I got up early to go to this "huge" yard sale.  We got there and they didn't have much at all and nothing I wanted.  But behind the yard sale was a small antique mall with about 30 vendors inside it.  It really was a cute place and I walked out with these:

Paint by number called Snowy Memories.  It's a nice size, 12 x 16 and it was within my PBN budget!

These are neat.  They are plastic lacy doilies!  They are such a great aqua color that I think I need to use one in my retro bathroom!

I got three of them!

We went to two other antique malls and I walked out with nothing!  A whole day and this is all I came home with!  

There were a few things I probably shouldn't have passed on but I wasn't in the right frame of mind for all this shopping.  One thing I am going to take the hubby back to look at was another tension pole lamp that I passed by because I didn't think it would work where I wanted to use it but now I think I can make it work!

We had a pleasant time but I should have spent more money!  LOL!  Well, tomorrow is another day...

I needed a new light.

I have a vintage typewriter table that is now turned into my printer table.  One night while printing out some items, I needed to change an ink cartridge in the printer.  I could barely see to do it, the light in our house is so bad.  It was decided I need a light. But what kind?

My very first thought was one of those old fashion tension pole lights.  My hubby said no.  We looked everywhere for a floor lamp, wall lights, hanging lights, clip on lamps but I couldn't find anything I liked.

Then, one day while in an antique mall, I saw it!  The light I wanted.  I made note of where it was in the mall and went home, waited for the hubby to come home and had him go over with me to look at it.

I show it to him and he goes, oh, that is a tension pole?  I didn't know what one was.  Geez!  Then why say no until you've seen one?  We dug it out of the booth and took it to the counter, they put lights in it and tried it for us and it was mine.

I'm thinking this might be a Gerald Thurston lamp.  I love the shape of the shades and how they turn on!  The switches are hidden.  Um, I'm thinking this would be awesome next to my new shadowbox wall shelf but then I wouldn't have anything for the corner again!

I'm really junkin' up that 80's wall paneling "he" won't get rid of, aren't I?  Hey, if I can't lick em, I'll join em.  Just wait for the shag carpeting and bean bag chairs!  I all ready have the inflatable footstool, paint by numbers and funky fiberglass lights!
