New paper beads

I've been trying to come up with something new for my paper bead line and this is what I came up with, finally!

I take regular paper with a pattern on it.

Cut out the bead shapes, roll and glue them and then I stained them.

Then, coated them as usual.  So they still have a nice gloss to them.  I made these beads into a necklace:

I like how they darken up but you can still see the pattern through the stain.

Thrifting!

I had to go to the post office on Friday so I decided to make a stop at a thrift shop I haven't been to in a very long time! I walked in and saw how much they opened up the rooms and how nice it was organized now! A whole room for linens! A room for toys and kid's clothes. Housewares everywhere! And the best part, now there's a basement opened for furniture, electronics and more housewares!

I saw this pitcher and kept trying to walk away from it. But something made me take it! It was so filthy dirty, I wondered why it attracted me. I washed it up and just look at it sparkle! I found out it's a West Virginia Game Pitcher.

I love finding rhinestone items! This one is pretty plain, but has a special feature. The clasp is just wonderful! It's a rhinestone box clasp to die for!
It's a choker necklace!

Tuppercraft trio planter in sunny yellow! I can just see herbs planted in this and on a windowsill somewhere!

Tupperware cereal bowls!

I, also, purchased another dictionary for my word paper beads and four skeins of WOOL yarn! Great for felting and only 50 cents a skein. Probably should have bought more of that!

No photos of these, but I found 12 more paper plate holders in those wonderful vintage colors! A few more fish ones like listed on Etsy and a new style I don't have yet. Makes me want to have a picnic!

Yep, that's right, this post is about another featured BUYER, not seller! I love it when people share what they've made from the items I make!

Today is Lisa (aka Toppogigio) who has purchased several lots of paper beads. Just look at what she's done with them!

The first items are made from legal pad paper beads! These are awesome!

These are Lisa's own words: "The Legal Paper beads are actually strung on the Fireline, and the daisy chain just seemed like a fun way to add some interest. I love the way the earrings came out with the dangles...they are fun. Later on I will probably want to get some more of the Legal Paper beads from you. They are really a lot of fun with the variety of colors, and I think they would be great for spring and summer wear. I want to do a similar necklace and earrings set only with multiple strands. I used all of those on the set I made up.That Daisy Chain is pretty easy to do once you get the hang of it, and goes pretty quickly. I can zip out a bracelet reasonably fast now that I know how to do it."

The next items are all made from Pencil paper beads! Just look at what she's done with these!

And Lisa says "The Pencil Beads were strung on light wire (I think it was 12 or 15) with black glass rounds, yellow-green bugles, white 10/seeds, and some very pale green glass "diamond"-shaped beads. I wanted to pull in the colors in the paper but not overwhelm the beads too much. The necklace is very light despite the double strands. "

New Project!

I found something I can do with my scrap pieces of paper! I decided to make earrings but about halfway through the first earring, a light went off in my head and I turned the earring into this:

It's a dangling doodad pendant! After I made this one, my hubby sat down and thought about what I was doing and of course, came up with a genius way for me to make them so much easier and cut my time in half! Since, I've made more:

The dangles are all from http://www.theivyleaf.etsy.com/ and she does such a great job on them! I love all of them! She does all different colors so I'm having a great deal of fun matching things up. I'm even mixing colors together, which is something I don't usually do!

Here are all of them together and you can definitely see the difference between the very first one I did and all of the others:

Christmas Tree Farm

All these trees are made with a paper bead! Wire wrapped and a star at the top, each one comes with it's own little stand! I've sold quite a few of these and plan on using them to decorate my Norfolk Island Pine tree at Christmas. I've made earrings with a few of them and love them, can't wait to wear them! These are great for package decorations or as a necklace. I include a lengthy cord or ribbon with each one. They can be found in my Etsy shop at www.RunsWithScissors4.etsy.com
