Thrifting - On the Road! Part Three!

I'm pretty sure this is some type of torture device!  Actually, it holds items like cheese, the huge roast etc. so you can then slice it.  Love the chippy look!
There's no reason whatsoever to purchase something like this next bowl.  Okay, yes there is.  First off, it was only .50 cents.
And it is perfect for my felted acorns!  I think I might need some more acorns to fill it out.
This next item is a covered bowl that was so filthy dirty, the lid wouldn't fit on it properly.  Once cleaned up, it's a beauty!
Something else I purchased for myself!  My friend found this purse and thought I had to have it.  I went back and forth, for $1.99, how could I lose?  I couldn't put it back.

It's a Longaberger!  I had no idea they even made things like this!

Yep, it's mine, all mine and I'm pleased with it!
I really wanted to get out of the luggage business, but saw this one and had to think it over.
It's a Samsonite and I fell in love with the design.

Nope, that's not runny dirt, it's the pattern in it!

It's not squared, the bottom flares out a bit that gives it a wonderful look!

That's it for now!  Thanks for stopping by!

Felted purse... again

I think I'm getting better at this! I made another purse and do like the size of it this time. I've been keeping records as I go along so I know the size I want to do the next time. One thing about this one, I hate the yarn I used, will never buy it again. It frayed apart while trying to join the handles to the body of the purse. I never had that happen before and hope it doesn't happen again.

The colors of this yarn are so pretty and there's a rose colored yarn in this line but now I'll have to look elsewhere for my next color. These are the before felting photos:

And here's the finished product:

Finally!!

After three attempts, I finally got a bag/purse that I'm happy with the results! Remember the market tote? That was just okay, but I made a major mistake that I couldn't fix because I didn't realize it until after it was felted and the seams gave me grief.

Then, there was the purse I attempted that I won't even show anyone. Again, the seams were hideous. But the yarn didn't felt like I had hoped.

FINALLY! I did yet another purse and got advice on how to do the seams. Success! It's a bit on the small size, but I still love it!

These are the before photos above. Just about 12 inches wide! Now, let's see it after it was felted:

Now, it's about 8 inches wide! Here's where I need some advice. I received these beautiful felted flowers from Valerie at http://www.valeriesgallery.etsy.com/ I'd like to add these to the purse but am not sure where or how many to add. Any suggestions?

There's four flowers to pick from, two purples, a yellow and deep yellow. Give me some thoughts!

And, this was strange, when I went to get the flowers that I keep in the bowl that Valerie sent me, I realized the bowl and purse are just about identical in color! Wonder if we used the same yarn!
