OMG, where has this summer gone?  Can you believe it's Sept. all ready?

 

I've been shopping, but not taking the time to post items, just too lazy.  Sorry about that!  I've had a request to post what I found at the latest flea market, so here it is.

 

This is fun, my friend and I stepped back and let my hubby take the lead on this one!  The man wanted $10 a piece for these, the negotiations started and boy, was it fun to watch!  The vendor thought they were worth more because they are signed, nope, doesn't mean a thing, the hubby states.  LOL!  In the end, they settled on $6.00 for the pair but when my hubby went to pay, he said he only had a $5, would he settle for that? 

 

These were my doing.  They are gravel art called Golden Parrots.  Wish they were in better shape but for $4.00, I wasn't going to pass them by.

 

These are fun, they are travel hangers!  See how they fold down for the suitcase?

I liked it.  LOL!  He had a second one, different style, I'll take both of them but I never picked up the second one.  OMG, it is SO heavy!

 

These are neat files, not sure if I'll keep them or not.  LOLOL!  I didn't buy them to keep but I do like them.

 

Found this vintage projector and the vendor really wanted to get rid of it.  He had a box full of slide holders that he told me to take what I wanted and since I have a nice display that has 4 empty boxes, I took just 4 of the slide holders to fill those boxes.  He gave us an extra lamp bulb for it and another attachment to it, all for the huge amount of $5.00.

 

It's that neat industrial color and I hope someone will want it for a display item and it does work, if they really want to use it.

Friday Finds:

Had to run over the grocery store on Friday, so I'm not going that close to the little flea market without stopping!!  What??  I could always go to another grocery store?  I guess I could but what fun would that be?

I've been looking for something on wheels to take to flea markets with me and found this one!

It's perfect!  Folds up but gets pretty big once you open it up!  The lady selling it said she had it for years and didn't know it folded up like that.

Route 66 to boot!

Okay, so while I'm there, I may as well go inside.  I made a beeline to a booth that has this gravel art that I've been watching forever.  It was over my price range but this was it, 50% off everything in her booth!

I didn't realize it until I got home but this is totally embellished with rhinestones!

I swear the rhinestones in the ear and center of umbrella are earrings the person modified for the picture.

I looked this up on the Internet and did find a few more of them but none of them have the rhinestones!  Now I need the matching boy poodle!

She had one more item.  Another steel box.

It holds film reels and is in amazing condition.

That's it for Friday!  Not bad for a trip to the grocery store!

Flea Market

What a great day for a flea market!  Checked the weather forecast and it said the storms weren't moving through until later in the day, so off we went!

The hubby wanted to look for some tools to replace missing pieces so he was happy to take me!  And he was able to find what he wanted, so it was a good day for both of us!

Here is what was found today.  The hubby bought this, yep, a toolbox and it's for me!  Now my hammer, screwdrivers and wrenches have a home other than my kitchen junk drawer!  And it's the industrial colors I love, he did good!

Another toothpick holder.  It has a really nice pattern on it:

This is a beautiful Heisey sugar bowl, it just sparkles!

A paint by number magazine rack:

Four paint by numbers, not the best of shape but cheap enough.  And I love the message on the backs.  I've seen worse conditions, too.

A year later, Pete did these:

Here is another industrial box, this one is for slides.

Came with the boxes, 8 of them have slides in them, must go through and look at them all, the other four boxes are empty.  Makes a great display.

And I did a bundle!!  The slide box above and these two wall hangings.  I've seen these and they are made by the same manufacturer as my wall shadow box.  They are the perfect size for hanging on each side of your shelf.  Remember, I had two small gravel art pictures on each side of it and these are so much better! 

We also came home with a shoo fly pie and 2 whoopie pies!

Gravel Art #2

Due to the weather and getting ready for company tomorrow, I haven't gotten out much this week.

 

I stopped at one Goodwill store but didn't get anything worth talking about.  I have been shopping on eBay a lot lately!

 

This is one thing I got, another gravel art still in sealed box. 

 

Wish I could find some finished ones that would fit with my new old wall shadow box.

 

I'm going to start looking for one that goes lengthwise to hang below the shadow box.  Think that would be neat. 

 

Most of the subjects in this line, aren't the best, have to see what else is out there!

Back to answer the question, should I do the gravel art?

Antique Day

Wow, what a great day I had today!  I just have to share.  

I went to the first antique mall and didn't do that great in there, only picked up one item:

This is a great set of anodized measuring utensils.  I found another one before that is just the spoons so this was a great find!

I decide to stop at another antique mall and they had some outdoor tables set up and people were there!  It didn't look like much but oh, my!

The first table I stopped at had some fun items.  I ended up taking items and putting them on an empty table next to it and had the table almost filled up.  Check it out!

This was the first thing I saw and the box itself was just cracking me up.  It's Magical, It's Beautiful . . . Boy, do they know how to sell!

It was never opened and it really caught my curiosity!  Asking the seller about it, it got him curious too, so he opened the box to see what color it is.  We didn't take anything out of the box because it is so nicely wrapped but I could see it was a brass color.

What a lot of uses it has!  LOL!

The next things I found were these great Gay Fad onion soup bowls!  He was only asking a quarter each, couldn't pass those up!

Now, last year, I wanted a mug tree but this year, I can't remember why.  LOLOL!  This is a full set still in the box, never used.

One thing I got that I haven't taken photos of is this artificial Christmas tree by Hudson Valley Company.  I don't even know how tall it is because again, still in the box, brand new, never opened.  I'm guessing it's around 3 feet tall.  I did open the box to get the paperwork out of it and it has the date of 1985 on it.  I need to do some research on it.  I had to quickly hide it before the hubby saw it!  BUT, it was only $3.00!!!

The next item is fun!  It's a gravel art panel still in the box with the plastic around it.  Tell me, should I open it and try to do it?

Easy to do.  Um.  I wonder about that.  Looks like way too many colors for me!

Something else to do some research on.  Check out the furniture shown!

 

Somewhat dates it!

He had some jigsaw puzzles still sealed and I like to get those for my mom's community center.  I got three of them for .75 cents each.

All this stuff, especially the tree, filled up my trunk!  But I only spent $18.00 for all of it, can't beat that.

Ran around to the other tables and found one more item.

I want to sell these but not sure where I can sell them.  Not sure eBay will even allow them.  They are the original!

Ran inside the antique mall, since that is what I went there to do and got two more items.  I know this is tacky and gross but I love it!
