Day Three of Shopping Finds

How can you not love this happy face spoon?

I got two of them and might, just might, have to keep one!

They say Splenda and Kool-Aid on them, have to find out how old they are.

Just look at the rainbow of colors!

They are a basketweave plate holders and I got lucky enough to get two of each color for a nice set of eight!

Some primitive looking kitchen utensils, one being red Bakelite.

Stay cool rolling pin.  You can put ice into the center chamber.

This was an odd thing I found at a thrift shop.  I love the looks and colors of it and thought it was a planter.  When I picked it up though, I was surprised.

That hole isn't large enough for a plant!  While at an antique co-op, I started talking to a man that helped me with my lamp and asked him if he had any idea what it could be and he said a lamp base!  OMG, he was so right.  I found a few more online but not one of them have any lamp parts with them.  Did they start to make the pottery and then the deal fell through with the lamp makers?  I have an idea what I need to find to make it into a lamp, so I'll keep looking!  Upon looking really hard, I found USA marked under the glaze, it's really hard to see but there.  Wouldn't it just be adorable in a baby nursery?

Have a nice day!

Shopping - Day Two

More of my weekend finds! Add eyes to this button and I see a clown!
Buttons and buckles. Some really pretty glass and celluloid buttons and Bakelite buckles.
Why in the world would anyone want a broken necklace?
Because I now have two vintage box clasps!

A cool set of anodized coasters.

I never purchased cufflinks before. At first, I only saw one of the brown ones and thought it was a belly ring. *sigh*

Just look at the face on that dog! These are four sheets of vintage German die cuts.

I've seen these dogs before but don't recall ever seeing one with a bone!

And it's a souvenir doggy!

Okay, well, these are my bigger dog's favorite toys. They giggle, so he likes to make the giggle and then throw them down the steps. Once the batteries go dead, they are too expensive to keep replacing. It was cheaper to buy new giggle balls. Now I can't find them anymore so I was thrilled to find these for $1.00 each! He'll be happy too but they are hidden for now!
Have a nice day!

Featured Seller

I wanted to show some amazing pieces of pottery! The first is a leaf, made using a real maple leaf!
The second item is a tiny bowl with sea green glaze.
These came from Carol at: www.carolbroadleypottery.etsy.com
Carol explains her process: "I always use maple leaves because they have such a pretty shape with all the points and great veins. I press the actual maple leaf into the clay, fire it with the leaves still on the clay (it just burns away). Then I color it with an oxide wash over the fired leaf, and fire it again to make the color permanent."
Stop by her shop and have a look at many other wonderful items that Carol makes! She's such a great talent and a great person to boot!
