Flea Market Finds

Hubby surprised me with not one, but TWO flea markets on Memorial Day!

First one we went to was a bummer.  Not much vintage stuff at all and it only took an hour to go through but I did find one item.  So worth the trip!
This is pretty awesome, not one we've ever seen before and within our PBN price range!  I must teach the hubby how to negotiate prices though!

Onto the second one and this one was wild and oh so much fun!  Packed full of vendors, just the way I like it.
First beauty I found!
A wire donkey letter holder.  Isn't it cute?
Then came this:
This is a planter but I will find something to put in it around the holidays.
Best part is that it is a Holt Howard piece!
It is in nice condition except for the paint loss and I just might paint it in since I'm going to keep it for myself.  It was so cheap I just couldn't pass it by.  I thought it was just a sweet looking piece.

We found one Pez dispenser, not a vintage one but one we didn't have:
And one last thing, another paint by number!
Again, this is one that really needed cleaning!  I took the photo of this before I cleaned it and when I did, the scratch along the side all but disappeared!  It's a sharp looking ship, if I must say so myself!
We haven't had a whole lot of sun lately so this was a really nice day!  Full of fun and sun!

Weekend Thrifting and Antique Shopping

I didn't take photos each day so these won't be in any type of order.

Here are some wooden items!  Two rulers for my collection, two hooks but I don't know what they are for because they don't stand up on their own and they don't have a way to hang them and four bobbins.

I came across these older knitting needles:

How do I know they are older?  They are marked with this:

Grants is a store that has been out of business since the 70's.

Don't ask.  I wanted this for my desk.

More wooden bowling trophies!

Some Pez dispensers:

What is up with these, I can't seem to resist these.  I now have a small collection of them!  Mostly owls, so these excite me!

I found this box of Jewel Brite Ornaments and had to have them.  I'm now looking for an aluminum wall hanging Christmas tree to display them on!
And here's that name again.  Amazing they were only .88 cents:

And can't keep from showing this one off right away!  My best find!

It is so funky cool!  Fiberglass bullet gooseneck lamp!

Stay tuned for more!

The unveiling!

I've been talking about this for ages, today was the day!

I added pages to my Pez site and set them up for ecommerce!  Woohoo!  I now have Pez for sale on my site.  Stop by and visit it here:  Pez for Sale   Doesn't it look pretty?

Visit the rest of the site here:  ThePezt.com

I'm quite proud of my little site, it's been a long time in the works and it's coming along.  Still needs work, like I just figured out how to make it so you can click on a small photo and enlarge it!  LOLOL!  Looks like I'll be going back through thousands of photos and fixing them.

Our Pez Display A.Q.

Well, today was supposed to be a day for another vintage makeover, but due to the events of the day, that post will have to wait!

As many of you must know by now, there was a 5.9 earthquake in Virginia.  It was felt as far North as MA.  I was at home when it hit us.  Strangest thing ever!  I thought it was really strong winds until I realized it wasn't windy outside!  Our house was shaking, I thought twice our TV set was going over and it lasted a full 30 seconds or more!  I ran outside, as did other neighbors and we all looked at each other and went "what the hell was that"?  LOLOL!  One finally said, I'm pretty sure that was an earthquake!  She was indeed correct.

Here is our Pez dispenser display:

Now let's look closer after the quake hit.  Yes, friends on the West coast, most people would put something sticky on the bottom of them, but what do we know on the East coast about earthquakes?  And go ahead, Cathy and John, laugh all you want!

It is strange, it only took out certain dispensers!  Shelf number 2 and 4 got hit the hardest.
Shelf four, an entire row was taken out!

I'm pretty sure Woodstock took this opportunity to take out Kermit.

So, how was your day?

Antique Spree - Part I

I went antique shopping for a long weekend and had a blast. I was able to come home with some pretty fun items this time!
I came across a shop with older Pez dispensers for only $1.00 each! Nothing really exciting but one of those dispensers is a Witch with stenciled stem!
See how the stem has a printed patent number instead of the regular embossed patent? That's known as a stenciled stem, the other side has the stencil of the country of origin. This is actually a 3.9 witch but has 4.9 stenciled on it.
It seemed to be a great weekend for my air fresheners and cotton ball holders! Three of them in all!
This is one I didn't have and is a cotton ball holder, most people say they are cactus planters.
This one is an Airwick air freshener, see the smaller hole? I had this color before but it's fun to get variations such as this one with the big glob of something under the glazing. It was cheap enough and down inside it, is an original wick that I have to get out of there.
Another air freshener and again, I had this color but this one has such a nice clean finish to it, my other one has a crack.

Found a bunch of plastic buckles.

I have more to report, but will continue you finds in another post. Does anyone else go antique shopping?

Karen here, from RunsWithScissors4.etsy.com. Please feel free to stop by my shop and look around. I love all the new friends I've met through Etsy and thought I could share some of them here.

I have a Pez web site that shows my Pez collection! You can visit it at http://www.thepezt.zoomshare.com/. Remember Pez dispensers? I've been collecting for years and it was easy to become a Pezhead!

I'm new at all this blogging stuff, so please bear with me while I get the hang of all this!
