This is one of those blog posts I really had to think about before doing! If you've ever had one or more of these in your garden, you know why I had to give it some thought!
About 10 years ago, when I had a large veggie garden, these started to pop up. I got rid of them and never saw them again, until today.
They look like carrots, but trust me, they aren't. When they first pop up, you can smell them from a mile away. It's a gross smell too, not a nice smell.
It's a fungus. Named Stinkhorn and the name says it all.
From what I can gather, they are caused by extreme heat and then extreme water, which we have had both. Four days of extreme heat, followed by a lot of rain. They pop up overnight. And they are just downright gross. Anyone else ever get these?
