Paint by Number

Woohoo!  I have been searching for one of these for a long time now and one finally came up on eBay within my price range!  I'm pleased to add this to our collection:

Now onto the second one to go with it!

How has your week been?  This week has flown by so quickly.  I haven't gotten out of the house for any flea markets, it's still storming at times so I've been puttering around the house.  Maybe tomorrow!

More thrifting today.

Shopped again today.  Not a huge haul but a fun one!  And guess what?  All for me!

I'm having some luck picking up pants hangers lately!  Got some more today:

Another honeycomb decoration, guess I'm collecting these now!  I think I'm up to 6 now.

Found this book for a lowly .47 cents.  I thought if it had one pattern I liked, it was worth the money:

It had a few patterns I liked!

I'm especially font of alphabets and this book has a few of them!  I love doing them on perforated paper.

I don't think I'd do the dino for myself but thought it was just adorable!

Same with the cowboy:

This hen would be awesome in a kitchen:

And for the best things I got today and now I guess I have a collection of this, too!  Miller Studio Chalkware!!  All from 1971.  Can I say "LOVE"?

The little girl has some damage to her hair but some yellow paint will cover it nicely. And this one:

Remember, I have these hanging in my retro bathroom:

Thrifting

I stopped in at a thrift shop today and hit another good haul!  A boatload of vintage party decorations!

Got some party troll items, wasn't much of it but I grabbed what was there.  Party hats, tablecloth, 2 sizes of napkins, plates and favors.

Then, these awesome centerpieces of clowns!  I love the honeycomb items so one of each of these isn't going anywhere!  And one of them is a Beistle!

Tons of Beistle honeycomb bells in different sizes and colors.

And two clown cake decorations.

Lastly, a pair of Bakelite screw on earrings!

I got a total of 55 party items!  Now I get to remove all the thrift shop price tags from it all!

Flea Market Haul!

Wow, what a day!  We went to a flea market that I've never been to before and it was awesome!  Three trips to the car and a full trunk, look at our haul!

We found 17 paint by numbers, 3 paint by number sets, the metal lock box (complete with key), metal bookends, buttons, a photo, shelf liner, moving blanket and the best thing, my hubby got an old GSP unit because he wanted the power cord and he shocked me by bargaining!!  I just about fell over.

The sunglasses are from another flea market and the reason for them are because they are bi-focal sunglasses, so I can use them for driving and now when the police stop me and say do you know how fast you were going, I can say yes instead of guessing.  Since I got my new eyes, I can't see close up and need readers.  I don't need them for far away sight but like to have sunglasses for driving, then I can't see the gauges that are up close to me!  With these glasses, that should take care of that problem.
Let's look at things closer:

Lock box, sunglasses, photo and Bakelite buttons.

Bookends and oh so retro shelf liner paper!

Inside this box was an advertisement that I've read about before but never saw the actual item, this is probably as close as I'll ever get to it:

You'd send them a photo and they would make a paint by number for you!

Last Supper kit!  The details are way too much for me, good thing I have a few of these that are done!

This one is fun!  It is set number two but only one picture is left inside but there is a frame in there, too!

The photo on the right in what is left in the box.

Here it is with the frame.

Now the fun starts!  I get to research each one of these for names, manufacturer, size and dates for my web site!

This one has a funny story to it.  My hubby was inspecting it and said "this doesn't make any sense", I told him "unless the seagulls are swimming in the ocean, you have it upside down".  He turns it over and says "Oh, now it makes sense!"  This set the vendors off into a fit of laughter!  Me, I'm just rolling my eyes and shaking my head.
One thing, I do know the name of this one because it was shown in one of the brochures that was in with a kit.

 LOL, check out the deer!

I'll be adding all these and more details to my web site, come and check it out at OurPaintbyNumbers.com but give me some time to get all these on!

Okay, let's talk numbers!!  GPS $5.00, moving blanket $5.00, shelf liner .25 cents, sunglasses $10.00, every thing else was only $1.00 a piece!!!!!!!  Can you believe it?  20 paint by number pictures and kits for $20.00.  That won't happen too often.

Bunny in time out

Poor thing was put in time out!

Have been missing in action this week!  I'm pleased to say there is a good reason for it.  I received a huge custom for 200 mini matchbook pads, got my kitchen painted (finally) and have company coming on Sat.  Oh and a flea market on Sunday.  So, hopefully I'll have something to blog about next week!

Paint by number

I need an intervention.  I can't stop shopping on eBay.  My latest purchase is this paint by number:

It's called Sails at Rest from 1956.  Note how dirty it is, especially the clouds.

A few baby wipes later and waalaa!  Not bad at all!

Thrift finds

Last week, I was able to get to two thrift shops and find a few items.

I decided to buy these protectors because I often print out patterns from the Internet for knitting or book folding and then I have these loose pages all over the place.  I am So glad I found them!  I paid $1.97 per box and looked them up on the Avery web site.  They charge $14.88 per box for them!  I love how organized my pages are now!

I've been picking up pants hangers when I can because they are fantastic to use with my paint by numbers that aren't framed!  Clip the picture into them and hang away!

Another critter for my shell animal collection!

Have you ever seen these before?

I think these are neat.  They suction onto the bottom of a bowl and you can arrange flowers in them.

I found a box before but it only had one arranger in it.  This one has both the larger and smaller hole ones inside the box!

And finally, these glass fruit.  I have no idea why I bought them but I did so now they are mine.  I felt like I had to rescue them, the three of them were thrown into a bag for anyone to pick up and clink them around.  I was lucky they weren't damaged but felt like it was just a matter of time!
