More Handmade Tags!

I've been experimenting with more items to make tags. I found the Bingo cards at a thrift shop and my friend, Julie sent me some things to play around with. The first item is from a game called Outburst. They turned into these:

These are from a game called Stare and playing cards.

I need to turn the playing cards the other way around but I like how the numbers came out.
Games: Skip-Bo, Monopoly Chance and Community Chest cards, Uncle Wiggly, Guesstures and Mad Gab.

I like the Guesstures backside with the blue and green and LOVE the Monopoly cards, the others, not so much :(

Also received more Monopoly property cards and love those!

Thrifting . . . again...

Not much to report from this morning's trip, but a few fun things. I've always wanted a pair of gloves to use in my photos and now I found one! I'm looking for black ones, too.
The tissue box is metal and appears to be hand painted. Cute ivory colored flowers. It's neat because you could hang it on the wall, if you wanted to!

How cute is this?

These don't look all that exciting. I found a pair of pillowcases that just looked like I should know the manufacturer. I searched and searched but couldn't find a tag. For some reason, I was persistant and looking closely at the the pattern, I found the name. VERA! Woohoo, was I excited. SOLD! Walked down further in the row and found a flat sheet to match, double Woohoo! Man, am I excited now. Kept going and sure enough, found a second flat sheet! WOOHOO! Vera Neumann Collection by Burlington. They are in the washer as we speak.

Thrift Shopping!

I love these metal file boxes for my supplies! So much better than the plastic ones you have to buy today! This one even has the key with it, now I know my paper punches are secure! Picked up 2 boxes of binder clips. I use these for so much! In the kitchen to close chip bags, frozen food bags, etc. Think I'm set now! I only paid .50 cents per box of 12. Can't beat that! And the wooden turtle was just too cute to pass up.
I've seen these milk glass bowls before but never decorated like this one. It's awesome! I love the painting on it.
Isn't it pretty?! The base is decorated too.
Found a Bingo game that I can make tags out of the cards. I'm hoping I can match up some numbers with the matching chips.
I see Avon bottles all the time but never saw this one before! It's a fire alarm bottle. And check out the hairy stick pin! It's fur!
Boonton divided dish! Cool beans!

Set of metal bookends. Remember these from the olden days?

This is a stay cool rolling pin! You put cold water or ice cubes inside it to keep the pin cool and keep the dough from sticking to it when you roll it out.

How cool is this? Would look awesome with the inflatable footstool! Great old magazine rack.

I almost passed on these but then kept finding parts all around the shop and went back, collect them up and couldn't resist them once I saw them all together! They appear to be milk glass but they are plastic wall hangings!

Best part of all, I didn't spend more than $2.97 on anything! That would be the magazine rack and metal file box. Everything else was .50 cents or $1.00! Now that's what I'm talking about!

Help!

I need some help identifying this thing! I thought it might be a lunchbox. But when I opened it up, there's two containers inside that remind me of butter dishes. But who would need to carry two sticks of butter to a picnic? The one container has a spot to snap a knife or some type of utensil into a slot.

It seems like the containers should sit the opposite direction than a butter dish, in other words, the deeper section is the bottom.

Please let me know if you have any ideas!

More on Handmade Tags

Thought I'd show before and after photos of a few items I've made into tags! Didn't take a photo of the book first, but the pig tags are from a children's book called Pigsty!
Monopoly properties turn into these cool two-sided tags.

This is a music journal, used to do lessons.

These are the tags that I made from the journal.

This is a pad of paper I picked up at a flea market! It looks like it was used for car appraisals!

I love how they came out! They'd be prefect for pricing items for garage sales, flea markets, shops, shows and to write a short message to customers!
You can see other tags in my shop: www.RunsWithScissors4.Etsy.com I'd be happy to do custom orders for you!

Garden Flowers!

I love this time of the year! All the colors to be seen. Here's just a few of my flowers.Isn't this fun? It starts out as a tight bud and then pops open! Kids love these because you can squeeze them to help them open! This is what it looks like once it pops open.

These are new to me this year and I'm in love! Great to bring into the house as cut flowers, they really last long and the ones that weren't open, did open while in the house!

The photos don't do them justice! You should see the insides of them!

This one shocked me! It's way too early for these but this one was ready! Just a beautiful calla lily!

I took old receipts and made them into hang tags! These receipts are dated from 1902 up to the 1940's. Take a look at the receipts and then visit my Etsy shop to see the tags! http://www.runswithscissors4.etsy.com/
